Erase Part of a Picture

1  Click the Eraser tool in the toolbox.  
2  Move the cursor over the picture.  The cursor changes shape when it is over the picture.
3  Drag the cursor over the area that you want to erase.  The erased area becomes white in color.  Release the mouse button to stop erasing.  The Eraser tool remains selected until you click a different tool in the toolbox.

The eraser always makes the erased area white.  After erasing, you can change the white area to a different color.  For instructions, see How to Draw or Paint on a Picture. 

You can change the size or shape of the eraser.  To do this, double-click on the Eraser tool or choose Eraser from the Options menu.   Specify the desired shape (square or round) and size (expressed in pixels or dots).  Click OK.  

To erase in just a horizontal or vertical direction, hold down the Shift key when you start to drag the cursor over the area that you wish to erase.
